We are partying almost every night in Little Five.
The Unsatisifed hit the stage next and did not disappoint. Every time I see these guys I like them more. The band has this amazing wall of fucking sound and power that is relentless in its onslaught on your brain. They seem to do it effortlessly cool but at the same time you can see them pour themselves into it. Awesome shit to hear and to watch all around but especially when it comes to Eric. I like watching him get up to the stage before the show actually starts. You can see him warming up doing stretches or whatever. But his mental state seems to be there all the time. As soon as the music starts and the first note is belted out you feel the rock and roll ooze off every note. Watching Eric is fun as hell too mostly because every time you do see him perform he seems to be MORE into it the next time. So you got this awesome fucking sound coming from the cool motherfuckers in the band and this outta control motherfucker up front moving like he has all those sonic notes moving around inside him. All the songs kicked major ass for me. But whats a guy gotta do to hear you guys play “Fell in a Hole” live someday for Miss Chicky? Its one her favorite songs right now. There is an amazing story from Eric on how that song came about. I’ll let him share that if he feels like it. Hopefully he and more bands will come and tell MusicFilter some of their amazing stories of life in the music world. I’m sure there are a lot out there. [BMF]

It’s Eric here. …Has for the song “FELL IN A Hole” My beautiful daughter Destiny Surreal when she was 9 years old she gave me some words she wrote and at the time she did this I was coming off 13 years of drinking and druging. I was so fucked up in my head, depressed, my life was not what it was suppose to be. “Rock star” no. I was a bullshiter. Just a drunk nothing more. Just a godamned drunk like my hole fucked up family! This child gave me the words that made me the Rocker you see to day. I was in a hole. running from a monster that I prvoked. the fall of lucifer. The devil was me. Destiny is a great and funny girl but she has some kind of insite in our families insanity and she can use her skill to enlighten and free me. After going to bed around 5:30 a.m. we got up around 10:30 or 11. Our first mission was to drop off the laundry but decided to do it later cause of no parking places. So we headed to the Flea Market and saw some sights along the way. We got to the Flea Market but only about 75 vendors were left. We still made our way around to each booth and ended up with a vintage rock newspaper with a feature on Punk Rock and a spider bracelet/ring thingy.
We then drove over to Buford Hwy to spec out some Bubble Tea places. We got supremely high the whole time which only added to our delightful day. We came home around 4 and saw some interesting stuff looking out of the parking garage. So here we are relfecting on our day…high as hell once again clickin away and trying to satisfy a sweet tooth.
Speedealer These guys rock with an intensity so hard that I would challenge anyone to find a band that could match it. The lead singer barked, screamed, shouted and whispered every song that grabbed your attention and made you take notice. I said in my daily life entry that when I thought of Speedealer that one of the first things I thought of was a gas station uniform, ball cap and a pissed off motherfucker wearing it. I mean that in a very good way. Their drummer was just as intense in the way he hit the skins of the drums. Not just playing hard but hitting them hard. One of the highlights of the show for me was the song that the drummer and the lead singer shared vocals on. Very cool. I got to talk with the guitar player, Eric before and after their show and have to say he’s one of the nicest guys I’ve met. Thanks for adding to my BMF Signature Collection.
Supafuzz I had never heard of Supafuzz until last night. They sounded great. The lead singer, David, whom I have to thank for the CD, held my attention from the moment he took the stage. His between song comments kept the mood light even though the music was very hard. My favorite moment the song about, “Satan and Masturbation”. I have to say that of the three bands last night they won me over as my favorite of the night. They have that old school mentality of rock and roll that comes across in each song they played. I hope they come back to Atlanta cause you can bet I’ll be there. They also have a really cool website as well. Check it out.
Saw Lennon, Supafuzz, and Speedealer at the Cotton Club. The crowd was small and the music was pretty good. {BMF reviews} But I’d have to say the highlight was seeing Nashville Pussy’s name on the guest list and then actually seeing Ruyter Suys and Blaine Cartwright just blending in with the crowd.
We are heading to Colorado in a couple weeks to document our experiences while following Nashville Pussy around for five of their tour dates with the Reverend Horton Heat. The fact they are playing in places like Aspen, Vail, and Steamboat Springs didn’t influence us at all of course. We just want to behave like good pussy groupies. So naturally seeing them at the Cotton Club doing the same thing we were doing was a bonus. Just your everyday nice husband and wife that both happen to play guitar in one of the most kickass bands you will ever see.
Blonde overheard in the parking lot : “Does anyone know where the groupie area is?”
Last night we went to the Cotton Club to see SPEEDEALER, SUPAFUZZ, & LENNON. Some of you may know that this site was inspired from an old song of Speedealer called “VIVA LA VULVA”. Even though they didn’t play that song, Speedealer played a brutal in your face brand of rock that is I’ve seldom seen. When I think of Speedealer, a guy in a navy blue gas station uniform, wearing an old worn cap, with the name WINT embroidered on the chest comes to mind for some reason. The lead singer reminds me of this guy. Pissed off, and has thought long and hard about what he wants to say and says it with a ferocity that slams you back hard, very heavy. The drummer doesn’t just hit the skins, his hands come up way over his head with almost every beat and comes down to slam the drums with the same intensity that the other band members display. A special thanks to Eric for adding to my BMF signature collection.
SUPAFUZZ I had never heard of until last night. They too play a unique style of intensity. They do it with a sense of humor that comes from the lead singer both in song and in between songs. After their show I got to talk to the lead singer briefly. Very nice guy. Thanks for the CD. Look for a review of it on the Review/Link page.
LENNON was good too I suppose. Just not my type of band. I wanted to like them but they seemed too rehearsed to be having a good time. Look for more on the show on the Review page.

At the end of a detailed “random facts” list she includes with her biography (including facts like “i never fake orgasms” and “i was in choir during elementary school”) she states, “i have my secrets… most of them are strange things i’ve done or experienced, but i fear leaving myself that vulnerable as to share them with others. i fear their opinion of me. these things i keep to myself and have never graced the pages of any journal i’ve kept over the years.” One wonders what secrets she keeps, which “intimate” details are unavailable to her readers, and why textualizing those secrets will leave her so open to criticism. (hahahahah)

Pretty sure MC first discovered Mary Prankster from a Napster download of her first single called “Tits and Whiskey”. This would have been a title she knew BMF would love and she sent the song over to him. He was hooked!
From the Wikipedia we find Mary Prankster was a local heavy out of Baltimore and her first radio single was “Tits and Whiskey” from album Blue Skies Over Dundalk , a 1:40 song which she called “my attempt at writing the most obnoxious song ever”, and which contained the word “fuck” thirteen times.
Turns out Mary was more than just a downloaded mp3 and we eventually would go see her in 2001 in Atlanta. Mary was a real cool girl and she gave us a lot of attention and we were both smitten with her and her band.
This is somewhat fast-forwarding on the timeline but it’s ok to say we struck up a life long love for Mary Prankster over the years.
