Last night we went to the Cotton Club to see SPEEDEALER, SUPAFUZZ, & LENNON. Some of you may know that this site was inspired from an old song of Speedealer called “VIVA LA VULVA”. Even though they didn’t play that song, Speedealer played a brutal in your face brand of rock that is I’ve seldom seen. When I think of Speedealer, a guy in a navy blue gas station uniform, wearing an old worn cap, with the name WINT embroidered on the chest comes to mind for some reason. The lead singer reminds me of this guy. Pissed off, and has thought long and hard about what he wants to say and says it with a ferocity that slams you back hard, very heavy. The drummer doesn’t just hit the skins, his hands come up way over his head with almost every beat and comes down to slam the drums with the same intensity that the other band members display. A special thanks to Eric for adding to my BMF signature collection.

SUPAFUZZ I had never heard of until last night. They too play a unique style of intensity. They do it with a sense of humor that comes from the lead singer both in song and in between songs. After their show I got to talk to the lead singer briefly. Very nice guy. Thanks for the CD. Look for a review of it on the Review/Link page.

LENNON was good too I suppose. Just not my type of band. I wanted to like them but they seemed too rehearsed to be having a good time. Look for more on the show on the Review page.

roadtrip transformation

Day 1

Breakfast: coffee w/skim milk and equal, grapefruit half.
Appearance: hair pulled back in a neat ponytail, light eye makeup w/just a hint of lipstick, clean shirt tucked neatly into freshly pressed khaki shorts, white socks and tennies.
Attitude: should i really be doing this? where will this get me in life?
Worries: i think i left the coffee maker on. if i miss Ally McBeal, all my friends will be making references to an episode i haven’t seen, compounding my fears that they are always doing really fun stuff without me.
Sex Life: so its been a year. i have more important things to do with my time.
Today’s Highlights: no tickets, no accidents.

Day 3

Breakfast: coffee w/milk and sugar, chocolate donut
Appearance: hair down and windblown, no makeup, shirt untucked, sleeves rolled up, wrinkled shorts, shoes, fuck the socks.
Attitude: they probably haven’t even noticed i’m gone. my life can wait.
Worries: will i be able to pick up a rock station as i’m driving thru the bible belt?
Sex Life: so that’s what all the talk is about.
Today’s Highlights: watched a bull being castrated, bought a massive quantity of illegal fireworks and shot a bottle rocket at a rude trucker.

Day 5

Breakfast: tall glass of coke, no ice, french fries w/ketchup
Appearance: ripped the sleeves off the shirt and tied one around my head just because, driving barefoot cause the shoes were traded for a Zippo. is that a tan or just dirt?
Attitude: just fuck the other life. hey this is my life.
Worries: that was just a cold sore on his lip, right?
Sex Life: is trojan a publicly held company?
Today’s Highlights: picked up a sexy hitchhiker-and i do mean picked up.

61 is a 6-1 = 5 and 6+1 = 7 and 57 would be our destiny. #57bmf4ever

Update on 2/10/2019

The Stone Coyotes cover of Bob Dylan’s “Highway 61” would be the first MP3 posted by Miss Chicky in at least May 2000. This was a song shared between BMF and Miss Chicky through the fragile web thread. 57 would become a theme throughout our time together.

In honor of BMF, the love of my life, this was meant to be, me and he ~miss chicky
